The air is redolent with it,
the hope of a new beginning,
starting afresh perhaps,
to right the past wrongs,
a trigger which rouses us
to make resolutions anew,
or sometimes dust off the old ones
and reclaim them in vain daydreams.

A portal to pristine experiences,
Running amok towards the unknown,
Past misfortunes may drag us down,
but the new is the key,
the ink of change,
to refine our manuscripts,
We are the progeny of our past,
seeking salvation in the novel.
